Anuradhapura is the spiritual heart of Sri Lanka and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. As the island’s first ancient capital, it served as the center of Theravada Buddhism for centuries. Today, visitors can wander through a vast complex of beautifully preserved ruins, towering dagobas (stupas), and tranquil ancient reservoirs.
