It depends entirely on the season and where the elephant herds have migrated. Minneriya, Kaudulla, and Hurulu Eco Park are very close to each other. Your private driver or jeep tracker will always know exactly which park has the most elephants on the day of your visit.

The famous Elephant Gathering at Minneriya National Park usually happens during the dry season, peaking between July and September.

A typical jeep safari takes about 3 to 4 hours. The best time to go is in the late afternoon (around 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM) when the heat drops and the elephants come out of the jungle to drink water.
